We have a visitor!

Meet Misty. Misty's mom won a vacation to Mexico and needed a place for her little girl to stay for the time she was gone. We happily invited her to stay. She has been here for 1 full day already and even though she has been missing her mommy, she has been having fun with this bunch here. It has been so much fun for Bo and Bella to have another greyhound around, and they have been so open to her in their home. No squabbles, no fussing. :) She is so sweet, loves to kiss and loves to be pet. She has been getting Bo and Bella to play a little more while inside too. So without further ado... Here's Misty:
Hello!
Full roach. She feels welcome here with Bo and Bella

She's even taken a shine to Jon, snoozing next to him on the couch.

And the gand of greys; relaxing, sniffing, getting to know one another...

Snow!

We've got a ton of snow this last weekend and I only got a couple of shots of Bo in the snow... I hadn't been feeling well enough to romp in the stuff with them, but I thought this was a fun indication of the snow's level. Remember, Bo is a very tall boy:

Sunbeam shots

You have to love a dog lounging in the sun. This week a got a good one of both puppers. 1st we have Bella Bean, all snuggled in on the couch next to me as I was recouping. I love this shot so much, Bella looks so content. I tried it out in black and white to see it's effects. Thats is where picture #2 comes in. The final pictureis Bo, relaxing by the door with his favorite Christmas toy. He looked up as I was snapping the picture. What a life these puppers have.

Keeping me entertained.

This last week, I've been confined home trying to kick this flu/brinchitis... But the pups were doing their best to keep me entertained and in a better mood. They snuggled me, they played with each other, and just keep the cuteness level up to keep me smiling. Fortunately I had the camera with me and was able to catch some of their antics:

Ugh. The Flu

The flu has hot our home. First Jon, then me, so the last week hasn't been a very productive one. :P
The only good thing is that I had my puppers as my nurses. Due to Jon's work schedule he wasn't able to take care of me too much for the last 4 days, but I had my comforting nurses by my side 24/7, concerned for every cough and whine that came out of me. :)
Mama, are you ok? I heard you coughing bad.
Mom, I'm just keeping your spot warm while you went to take your medicines.

Hey, Keep it dow lady! Some of us are trying to sleep here!

Another Vet visit

Well, this time it was Bella Bean's turn.
On Saturday Jon & I went out on a romantic Valentines Day date. We knew we were going to be a little while, so we bought some bones (from a butcher that we haven't used before) to keep them occupied.
The date went beautifully and the pups were glad to see us when we got home that night. First thing Sunday morning, Bella's belly wasn't feeling good. I gave her a little pepto and we thought we'd monitor her when we got back home from church. Bella had a few surprises for us when we got home. Apparently she had eaten a complete bone, and it was making it's way out, bit by bit. Poor girl was in some discomfort, but was active and acting like all was well. So we kept an eye out.
There hadn't been any other real issues until today. I brought the pups to day care again, and not 20 minutes after dropping them off I got a call that Bella was pooping some blood! I got someone to cover me at work and I rushed my little Bean to the E-Vet. They took a stool sample, they took 2 X-rays, they did all kinds of tests... and everything came back normal. There was nothing that they could find out that was wrong. She is still eating well (but now a super bland diet to settle her tummy) acting normal and doesn't seem to be ill. But at least I feel better that there aren't any more bones in her tummy and she'll be OK.
Bo on the other hand didn't even notice that his sister was MIA and he played HARD at the doggy day care. Since we've been home this is the only position that he has displayed:
What you don't see is the twitching toes, reenacting the day's play.

Say Cheese!

I caught Bo smiling atthe camera first thing in the morning! :D

What a goof!

Jon caught Bo in a moment of goofiness. He apparently got a cord stuck between a couple of toes during a good, long, after a hard nap stretch. :D It's got me!!!!

Anticipation

Here are the 2 most anticipated moments in the dogs day (other than outside time)
1) Mommy getting home from work and letting them out of their room...

And 2) Dinner Time (or Breakfast time, or anytime that involves food that is specifically for them)

Playing in the snow

This afternoon I was able to get off of work early, so I took the opportunity to spend some time with the dogs. We have a decent sized fenced in backyard, but the moment I stepped outside with them, they could care less about the rest of the space... stuck to me like glue. I got some fun outside shots before I figured out that a walk was a better way to get them out and exercised.
Here Bella is staring off at the phantom squirrel that she knows is in that far off tree, just waiting to be caught. Bo on the other hand is enjoying a good bum scratch.

Bella is a connoisseur of snow... she likes to taste the snow in different areas, thankfully none of the yellow variety. :)

Bella whispering to Bo a sweet Valentine wish.

Bo stretching out and getting ready for a good long walk.

Bella Bean unwanted snuggles!

Bean likes to snuggle, but only on her own terms. Well, we like to snuggle her when we want to, not just when she wants to. She'll take it, but she'll let you know also that you are really offending her Princesshood:
First there is the stink eye:
Then she'll grimace and try to squirm away: After that she'll pull the "headless Bean" trick: *sigh* look how tortured Bella is. :) Her head reappearing...
Finally she takes her snuggling: She really does love to be snuggled, can't you tell? There is very little sweeter than a loved Bella Bean

Sun loving Bo

Bo Seeya makes every opportunity of their sunroom when its chilly. We have a little space heater, and on a chilly day Bo snuggled up to his 2 favorite stuffies (Mr. Hedgie and Mr. Moose) by the space heater and the sunshine:

COLD!!!

Again, cabin fever has taken hold. The average temperature here in WI has had a big - sign in front of it so most of our lives have been lived within insulated walls lately. The pups seems to have taken this situation well. We still dare not touch their leashes (a sure sign that a walk is imminent), because as soon as they get outside they turn tail and beg for the warmth of home. Bo has resorted to 3 daily activities... Eating, sleeping, and rooing on command for the entertainment of his owners (hee hee). a few examples:
Full dream mode. Tongue sticking out and feet flexed in full dream bunny chase:

Roo! Now feed me people! (please excuse laundry day!)

Bella has stuck with her regular moods... looking cute and playing hard to cuddle:

Who can resist this face?
