Yummy bones

Oh, yeah. cheese and bacon filling!
This is one of his morning ploys to make me late for work. "Maybe if I look really, really cute and make her grab the camera, I'll buy myself a few more minutes of her home."

Some new Bo pictures

This weekend we went to get me some new stuffies and chewies and to say hi to some of the other greys!
Nothing is better than doggie greeting.
I'll get you weiner dog! I'm the king of this castle!

Getting kinda chilly

It was getting kinda cold and we haven't yet gotten his winter gear (waiting for the greyhound gala in October for all kinds of greyhound funness). So Bo had to make do with one of my older v neck t-shirts. :)

We're not spoiling him at all!

So many stuffies, not nearly enough awake time to kill them all.
So 2 weeks have come and gone. Bo is blending in with us better each day, getting mroe affectionate with us and learning our habits. Very quickly. He knows when we are leaving for the day and he is starting to get sneakier about getting out of his room before we leave. I usually leave last so I get to be the meanie who locks him up in his master doggie suite. I make sure he has enough water for the day, that his favorite blanket is set up, all of his stuffies and munchies are all around. I then take him out to make sure that his bladder can withstand 9 hours by himself. As soon as we come in, he grabs his favorite hedgehog stuffie and bolts from his room into the living room. He gets all playful and excited and I feel so bad to lock him up. I take Mr. Hedgehog and toss it into his room. As he runs in to get it I close his door. Well, he's picked up when I'm leaving and I have to really squeeze out his door to make sure he stays in there. I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I can't wait to add another grey to the mix. Bo has been so much fun. This last weekend we took Bo out for the 1st time. We went to visit the greys at a local meet and greet and then to Animart and a pet fair type event they had going on there. So many smells, so many people. He was getting a bit antsy at the end so I think he was happy to get home. And although he hasn't mastered or enjoyed the car yet... we are getting there.

I had just put all of his stuffies away. He thinks he owns the place and that his stuffies should be around him at all times.
You can really get a sense of his height and stature here. It is so seldom that I am quick enough to get an upright shot, so this is a treat! Actually it is Jon leaving and Bo watching him off.
Bo has been pretty much Velcro dog, so everywhere we go we tag along his bed and a comforter so he can relax. Otherwise he is scratching the floor trying to "fluff" it up. Poor sleepy Bo.

What a face!

I love this picture! Bo has been so good and tolerant of us fawning over him all the time, and me with my camera following him to and fro daily. But who knew dogs hated papratzi too? Poor Bo went off into the hallway looking for a little rest when I kept calling his name from around the corner. The look he gave me just says it all. "Cut it out!!!"

I had to add this picture

"Put the camera down and just walk away"

Well, greyhounds are supposed to be the 40 mph couch potato, but Bo just hasn't seemed to master the couch yet. The potato he has down pat. So I decided the other night to introduce him to the glorius world o couches. It was a bit awkward getting him up there, because he gets all stiff legged, and his legs are pretty long. But after a couple of attempts we got him up there. he liked it, but I really don't see him getting up there on his own. :)
A good yawn and stretch and he is all settled on the comfy couch.
Yeah, I see you
All of a sudden Mr Bo gets shy. No Pictures!
Here we have Bo just heaved up onto the couch thinking, "what are you people doing to me?!?"

We've had Bo for about 3 full days now, and we really couldn't be happier with him. He has learned really quickly some ofthe household rules, so the home has been very peaceful. No barking, no chewing on things other than his stuffies, no messing in th house. Bo has really blended with us so quickly, ready for fun, but just as ready for a nap. It is pretty cool to see him run. When he gets squirrley and is outside he will do some laps around that have me bracing for a collision. He comes right for me full speed and last second veers off to one side. Hopefully we'll have a nice day out and I can get some good pictures of him in an upright position. :)
Retirement is hard work.

This is hard work!

I've only been "home" for a little while and man am getting worn out! I mean I get outside time, and stuffies to chew. But after a while I just need to nap.

This is the first afternoon at my new home. I found a really great smell in the backyard and knew that it had to be all over me.
